Derrick Hayes President & CEO of Big Dave's Cheesesteaks was born and raised in West Philadelphia. Big Dave's originally started in a gas station located in Dunwoody. My vision started to get clearer on what I wanted to do with this business in 2016. As my business grew, I branded my company name to Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks and I expanded my menu and added our fresh cheesesteak egg rolls. It was a great decision and is now one of the biggest selling items on the menu today. As the years went on, I continued trying to better my business daily on quality and exceptional customer service.



I was able to expand within other communities within Georgia by catering corporate/small business offices, annual celebrity events and I created an annual Christmas Giveaway. I take pride in teaching my employees the importance of loyalty and dedication because I built this business from the ground up. In 2018, I represented the City of Atlanta in the National Food Competition located in Orange Beach, Alabama. At the competition, Dave’s Way was voted as one of the Top 10 sandwiches in the world and made Big Dave’s a well-known Cheesesteak Shop.



My purpose for everything I do for this business is to honor my father David Hayes. I promised him I would open my own business and start a legacy. Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks now has opened two locations and as it grows my promise and legacy to my dad, Big Dave will continue.
